New Bowlers Competition

24 bowlers who joined the club between 1-3 years took centre stage on Sunday 7th April in exclusive competition. This is a tremendously successful initiative run annually where bowlers play a 'round robin' set of 3, 5 end games with the final & 4th game being played over 6 ends to give a full 21 end experience. The event gives bowlers the opportunity play competitivly on a even feild while building greater knowledge of our sport.

It is easy for experienced bowlers to forget that it can be quite nerve wracking being out on the green in competition for the first time and especially so when asked to mark for the first time. All players take turns in marking a game under the supervision of club coaches who are on hand all day to offer guidance and answer questions. Lunch was enjoyed in our restaurant which gives time to get to know each other and build friendships which may last for many seasons to come.  After a full day finishing a 6pm a trophy is presented to the winner & runner up which is formally given at the club awards night on 17th April.

The day was unanimously voted a success by all who attended .

Thanks go to Keith Measures for organising the event and his groups of coaches for their support
